The Lady Goats had a good week in fast pitch softball taking their overall record to 8-1 on the season.
On Friday, April 11, the Goats hosted 2A Sultan and shut them out at 13-0 in five innings. This win came on the heels of some really excellent offensive from the Lady Goats with Kilee Lippincott going 1-2 at the plate with a three run homerun.
Also offensively, Meisha Moro was 2-3 with a sacrifice fly, Amanda Van Diest was 1-3 with a triple and Kim Harter was 1-2 with a double.
Kim Harter was on the mound and threw a one hitter, walking only one and striking out eight to lead the Lady Goats to this win. Behind the plate, Kaylee Robelia did a nice job of catching. Anna Pickett came in for one short stint behind the plate because of an injury to her finger.
On Saturday, April 12, the Lady Goats traveled to Warden for a double header. Warden was in the State Playoffs last year, so the Goats were expecting a tough set of games.
In Game 1, Chelan came out on top 7-4 behind the pitching of AnnAlise Nelson. Annie gave up four runs on five hits, five strikeouts and eight walks. “We also struggled a bit defensively,” said Coach Jeff Barker. “But the girls played hard and kept putting the ball in play offensively.”
On offense, Jamie Brunner was 3-5, followed by Kim Harter going 2-4 with a homerun. Amanda Van Diest and Alisha Love both went 2-4 at the plate.
Chelan’s Kim Harter gave up only one run in the nightcap as the Lady Goats won 8-1. Harter allowed only two hits, one walk and had 15 strikeouts in this game. Both Anna Pickett and Kaylee Robelia did a great job behind the plate.
“The girls played a solid error less game and continued to hit the ball well. I was really impressed that in the 14 innings played, we only struck out three hitters,” reported Barker.
Offensively Kilee Lippincott was 2-4 and Jamie Brunner and Anna Pickett were both 2-3 at the place. Alisha Love went 2-4 and Lyndsey Fox went 1-4, scoring twice.
Chelan ended last week with an 8-1 record.
Chelan’s JV team also won both of their games in Warden 16-7 and 15-4 and are now 6-0.
