The Chelan Boys Soccer Team defeated the Tonasket High School Tigers on Saturday, April 12, by a score of 3-1, keeping them solidly in second place in the Caribou Trail League. “Brewster is the only league match we have lost this year and I hope that we will beat them in our second match,” said Coach Paul Quick.
Chelan’s next match will be against the Cascade Kodiaks on Tuesday, April 22. “We beat them 3-1,” said Quick. Cascade was undefeated last year. “So far we have only lost to Manson and Brewster,” he added. “We are 6-3 overall, and 5-1 in league.
On Saturday, Quick felt it was one of the team’s worst showings of their abilities. “We made an impressive 47 shots on goal, but only three went in. Tonasket’s keeper made 25 saves and Tonasket made six shots on goal in the second half.”
This year the CTL is comprised of only 1A schools, but at the end of the seaons, a Super Regional tournament takes place to determine who continues on to the State Tournament. “B” schools are incorporated into the Super Regional and Manson is in first place in the “B” League.
Next Tuesday, Chelan will host Cascade in a league match at the Chelan Falls Park field.
