Chelan Goats recover from deficit to beat Cashmere

Chelan traveled to Cashmere on Tuesday, March 25, for a league game and found themselves trailing by four in the fourth and still down 6-4 in the top of the fifth. “Once our girls settled down at the plate and started to pick better pitches, our offense exploded,” reported Coach Jeff Barker. The Lady Goats ended up with a 15-6 win.
Offensively Jamie Brunner went 2 for 5; Amanda Van Diest went 2 for 4; Taylor McClellan went 1 for 2 with a two run homerun; Kim Harter went 2 for 3 with four RBI's and a homerun; and Anna Pickett went 2 for 4 with 5 RBI's a double and a grand slam. “The girls did a nice job staying in the game when they were down.”
AnnAlise Nelson started on the mound and gave up six runs on four hits, two strikeouts and three walks.
Kim Harter came in to relieve and received the win, striking out six and not giving up a hit or a walk. Defensively the team had outstanding play by Meisha Moro at third base, Taylor McClellan at shortstop and Amanda Van Diest at First base.
“It was a nice comeback and a great win.”
The team is 4 & 1 overall and 3 & 1 in league heading into spring break. They travel to Liberty Bell on Saturday to take on the Mountain Lions.
