Win game two handily 61-44

Game 2 of the WIAA 1A State Basketball Championships was a tremendous confidence builder for the Lady Goats as they earned the right to continue to game 3 after thumping the Onalaska Loggers 61-44.
Onalaska led this game 1-0 on a free throw at the very beginning, but Sidney Austin was the next player up to the free throw line and she scored both shots to put Chelan in the lead 2-1. Chelan never looked back, holding the lead throughout, though there was a scare in the beginning of the third quarter as Onalaska made a 6-point run to close with in two points. Chelan jumped back out to a comfortable lead with Alisha Love and Izzy Barth both scored back to back field goals.
The Lady Goats controlled the flow of this game very well with Kelli Bowers hitting three 3-point shots which helped to give her game high 18 point honors, but Barth and Love playing excellent defense throughout this game. Love actually played most of the third and fourth quarters of play with four fouls, but never fouled out which is a testament to how careful she was on the floor.
Barth and Sidney Austin had their hands into the mix to help disrupt the Loggers offense and Barth, Love and Austin combined for 15 of the 44 rebounds Chelan pulled down.
Coming off the bench, Darby Jenkins, Jamie Brunner and Kim Harter had good games to help the Goats prevail. Kristen Milliette helped to keep the Loggers honest underneath.
After the game, Dennis Rahm interviewed both Izzy Barth and Alisha Love. I made defense a priority in this game, said Barth. Love said, I feel great, especially after our loss yesterday. We are having a lot of fun.
Rahm reported that it appears Chelan will play Freeman on Friday morning. Freeman was already leading Rainier 34-9 in their second quarter of play.
